Book Launch – To Be Adored By Me by Ioana Onofrei, poetry reading

Ioana Onofrei is celebrating the launch of her debut book at the Wrecking Ball Arts Centre. Titled To Be Adored By Me, it looks at the full range of what love can mean, ranging through highs and lows, acknowledging that love can be lost each time it is experienced. Ioana focuses on three different times in her life to examine the subject, from childhood expectations of love to past lovers to lessons addressed to her younger self. The reader is taken on a journey towards self-love that speaks to us all.
I no longer wish to mourn over a love that was never there
asking, begging, for someone who does not care
the freckles between your eyes, the scar on your right knee
a prisoner under your spell I no longer wish to be
your love, I want it
you were nothing but a bad liar
to be loved by me, that is my biggest desire.
