Peggy & AJ  a double act of outstanding music & buckets of humour. AJ, top Irish stand-up comedian and musician storms it every night he gets on stage. 25 years of touring, discovered by audiences all over the world, AJ has a legion of followers. Peggy, regarded as one of the most entertaining and amusing raconteurs and songwriters on the folk scene. A multi-instrumentalist and record producer and one of the original Fairport Convention members, joined in 1969 and has remained the groups sole consistent member. Original members include Richard Thompson, Sandy Denny and Dave Swarbrick! Peggy features on 100’s of legendary other folk rock albums including Nick Drake’s ‘Bryter Layter’, John Martin’s ‘Solid Air’ and various Ralph McTell albums including ‘Streets of London’. Peggy also bass player, singer, songwriter with Jethro Tull. Peggy responsible for re-forming the Fairports and their annual get together festival Cropredy, attracting audiences of 20,000 plus. Therefore, a magical chance to enjoy AJ & Peggy, great pals in the intimacy of the Crooked Billet’s dining room. Great tunes, great songs, great gags.

 

When renowned singer-songwriter and modern-day feel-good comic Anthony John Clarke met virtuoso musician Dave Pegg many years ago at the Banbury Folk Festival, it was clear that a very special partnership was about to flourish.

Nearly twenty years on, these two pals still maintain their mischievous outings and effortlessly present one of the most entertaining and joyous events in the musical calendar.

“AJ and Peggy” fuse and amuse perfectly to the delight of audiences. To say their show is unique would be a gross understatement.

Anthony John (AJ) Clarke has for years been an established act on the UK folk scene. Whereas Dave Pegg has gained a legendary reputation playing with Fairport Convention, Jethro Tull and the Ian Campbell Folk Group, to name but a few.
