The main entrance to Wrecking Ball Music & Books provides step-free access from Whitefriargate. Whitefriargate is a pedestrianised street.
Aisles and displays in our store are laid out to ensure best access for disabled customers and we are happy to make adjustments to make your visit as enjoyable and stress-free as possible.
Our cafe is located at the back of the store and is also accessible. We are happy to make adjustments to the cafe space and furniture to accommodate any access needs and requirements.
Our retail space includes one accessible toilet on the ground floor, with additional toilets at the rear of the building.
Our cafe area also serves as a venue space for some events and has movable furniture. However, our premises are over two hundred years old, Grade II* listed and not all of our venue spaces are fully accessible.
Our main venue – the Wrecking Ball Arts Centre – is located on the first floor of the premises and access is only possible via a staircase. Seating in the Wrecking Ball Arts Centre is conference style. We are happy to make adjustments to seating to accommodate visitors.
If you attend gigs and events with a Personal Assistant to support your needs and require a ticket for them, please contact us on 01482 214941. Likewise, if you require early access to the venue don’t hesitate to get in touch with us. We will take a ‘no questions asked’ approach to enable your enjoyment of Wrecking Ball’s spaces and events.
We consider Wrecking Ball to be a friendly, welcoming and comfortable environment for everyone and will make all reasonable adjustments to enable people with a disability to access events. We will continue to upgrade our facilities and welcome any suggestions, advice and feedback.
If you have any access requirements that you think we should know about, or have any questions or require any further information please contact us on 01482 214941 and we will be happy to assist.
