SUMMARY:Graham Graham Beck
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS :  Graham Graham Beck – Wed Oct 14th 2026 7pm-9pm Wrecking Ball Arts 2 (d – Wrecking Ball Arts Centre \nPlease note this show takes place in Wrecking Ball Arts 2   (ground floor)     \n\nGraham Graham Beck \n  \nSurrealist punk-pop cabaret. Recently described as\, ‘Hull’s most unpredictable master of quirky Art Pop’\, & ‘Hull’s best kept secret’\, Graham Graham Beck writes & performs songs where you don’t always know quite what’s coming next. Recent songs (for the new album\, to be released 13th October 2026) about a multi-legged chicken & a window display in Dinsdale’s Joke Shop in Hull\, are characteristically done with both a tongue-in-cheek smirk and accomplished musicianship. One man\, one keyboard (with auto-accompaniment)\, a sampler\, a few stage props & a voice that seems to swoop all over the place\, GGB sets out to entertain & leave you a little bit bewildered…but hopefully uplifted. \n  \nHaving recently finished a few months of sporadic touring in Wreckless Eric’s band\, & supporting Tom Robinson (for a second time)\, GGB will be promoting his new 13th solo album\, titled ‘MISH MASH THRASH CRASH’. There will be some merchandise. Beware! \n\nLINKS \n  \n– Bandcamp: https://grahambeck.bandcamp.com/ \n– Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@GrahamGrahamBeck \n– website: https://www.graham-graham-beck.co.uk/ \n– Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/graham-beck \n– Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/gragrabeck/

DESCRIPTION:TICKETS:  The Guilty Men – Friday Oct 16th 2026 8pm-10pm – Wrecking Ball Arts Centre \n  \nEx 10cc drummer Paul Burgess has joined forces with Craig Fletcher and Jez Smith from John Lee’s Barclay James Harvest along with singer-songwriters Clive Gregson and Neil Cossar in a new band The Guilty Men. The band are set to play their first live dates after releasing their debut album Invisible Confetti in the fall. \nThe video for “Susan’s Back Drinking\,” the first single from the album\, was directed by Award-winning filmmaker Nigel Dick known for producing the Britney Spears video “…Baby One More Time\,” Band-Aid’s “Do They Know It’s Christmas?\,” Oasis’ “Wonderwall” and videos for R.E.M\, Cher\, Paul McCartney\, Tears for Fears and more. \nBurgess joined 10cc as an auxiliary member in 1973\, from the first gig onwards after working with Eric Stewart and Graham Gouldman on sessions at Strawberry Studios. He first appeared on Deceptive Bends the fifth studio album by 10cc\, released in 1977\, the first album released by the band after the departure of founding members Kevin Godley and Lol Creme and produced the hit single “The Things We Do for Love”. \nOutside of The Guilty Men\, Burgess has remained in the 10cc line-up since then has also toured and recorded with Jethro Tull\, Camel\, Magna Carta\, The Invisible Girls\, Joan Armatrading\, Elkie Brooks\, Gloria Gaynor and The Icicle Works. \nKeyboardist Jez Smith and bassist and singer joined John Lees’ Barclay James Harvest in the late 90’s. The band originally featured “Woolly” Stuart Wolstenholme on keyboards before his death in December 2010. John Lees announced on his website that his band would not tour after their 2023 gigs across Europe. \nSinger-songwriter Clive Gregson formed Any Trouble in the late 70s and signed to Stiff Records. The band released 5 studio albums leaving Stiff Records in 1982 with a move to EMI America. After the band called it a day Gregson formed the folk rock duo Gregson and Collister. Gregson has also worked with Boo Hewerdine\, Eddi Reader\, Nanci Griffith\, Ian Matthews and Dennis Locorriere. \nGregson’s reputation as a songwriter has led to his songs being recorded by artists\, including Nanci Griffith (“I Love This Town”)\, Kim Carnes (“Touch and Go”)\, Fairport Convention (“Home Is Where the Heart Is”)\, Claire Martin (“Could This Be the One?”)\, Norma Waterson (“Fred Astaire”) and Smokie (“Northern Soul”). Gregson’s “I Love This Town” was recorded as a duet by Nanci Griffith and Jimmy Buffett in 2006\, becoming a radio hit in the UK and U.S. \nGuitarist and singer-songwriter Neil Cossar formed the power pop group The Cheaters in 1978 signing with Parlophone Records in 1980\, and later released three albums. In 1981 The Cheaters were named “The hardest working group in the UK” by Radio 1 after playing 321 live dates over 12 months. The band also found success in Scandinavia where their debut album topped the charts. Cossar has also worked as a radio presenter and launched the online site This Day in Music in 1999 as well as a music publishing company.

SUMMARY:The Unravelling Wilburys
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS :  The Unravelling Wilburys Friday Nov 6th 2026 7-30pm-10pm – Wrecking Ball Arts Centre \nNow hear this\, y’all…\nRumour has it the Wilbury brothers wuz plyin’ their trade one night in Tootsie’s Bar\, Nashville\, when\nthey spotted George Harrison from The Beatles and his pal\, Jeff Lynne outta the ELO in the crowd.\nSeems George & Jeff wuz lovin’ the show cuz they called up some friends to come along.  Them\nfriends wuz Roy Orbison\, Tom Petty outta The Heartbreakers\, and that Bobby Dylan himself.\nAfter a night partyin’ n’ drinkin’\, the boys allegedly decided they should all work together.  Six\nmonths on\, the Wilburys had heard nuthin’.  Then it seems they heard their own music comin’ out of a\nrecord store. It wuz a new supergroup\, callin’ ‘emselves The Traveling Wilburys.\nYes folks\, it seems the Traveling Wilburys became a tribute band to our home-spun originals!\nAfter a lot of years\, The Unravelling Wilburys decided to ‘reclaim’ their songs\, puttin’ together a set\nof all the hits and the best stuff Dylan\, Petty\, Orbison\, Lynne and Harrison could muster between ‘em.\nThen they headed for the UK\, where the folks ain’t got much of a clue about Country music and took\nto ‘em right away. They’ve been here ever since.\nWith a perfect mix of superb musicianship and comedy\, the UNRAVELLING WILBURYS are\nbrothers ‘Sticky’ Willy\, Walter\, Thumper\, Blind Melon and Honky Tonk\, who tell their unique story on\nhow they became a tribute band.  Now so popular that they even got to be a question on that TV show\n“The Chase”\, the boys get to spend their time travelling all over the UK\, from the Orkney Islands to\nthe Isle of Wight; from Penzance to Perth; from Southwold to South Wales; getting rave reviews and\npacking out theatres along the way in towns whose names they’ve never heard of and can’t\npronounce.\nThe show features the best of the Wilbury albums (‘Handle With Care’; ‘The End of The Line’; ‘The\nDevil’s Been Busy’; ‘Tweeter & The Monkeyman’) and some of their supposedly thievin’\ncounterparts’ numbers like ‘Refugee’; ‘While my Guitar Gently Weeps’; ‘Like a Rollin Stone’; ‘Only\nthe Lonely’ and ‘Mr. Blue Sky’. The act also contains the kind of comedy only a band spending far too\nmany nights in Travelodge hotels could dream up.\nSo- turn off your hearing aid\, put your Zimmer frame to one side and prepare for a great night out.\nIt’s a journey you ain’t gonna forget in a hurry!\nwww.unravellingwilburys.co.uk

SUMMARY:Pete Roth Trio feat Bill Bruford
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS    Pete Roth Trio ft Bill Bruford Friday Jan 29th 2027 8pm-10pm – Wrecking Ball Arts Centre \n  \nThe Pete Roth Trio features leader Pete on guitar\, Mike Pratt on bass\, and the incomparable Bill Bruford on drums. The band creates jazz for a new generation of music enthusiasts\, exploring beyond traditional jazz conventions. A jazz standard might reveal its essence only in the final moments of performance. \nRoth’s original compositions\, such as “Dancing with Grace\,” the Trio’s collaborative works like “Trio in Five” and “Looking Forward to Looking Back\,” or their reinterpretation of masterworks like Anton Dvorak’s “Largo from Symphony #9\,” offer just a few gateways into the creative world of the Pete Roth Trio—a world that will likely reshape your perspective on what the guitar trio format can achieve. \nGuitar: Pete Roth  \nPete Roth\, a versatile artist and accomplished session guitarist\, born in Germany\, where his musical journey began in the heart of a family deeply rooted in music. At the tender age of 11\, he picked up the guitar\, setting the stage for a lifelong dedication to his craft. \n In his formative years\, Roth found inspiration in the raw emotion of blues and the electrifying energy of rock. However\, his musical horizons expanded when he ventured to England to study jazz. There\, he delved into the rich complexities of the genre\, drawing influence from luminaries such as Joe Pass\, John Scofield\, and Julian Lage. \n Equipped with a diverse array of influences and a passion for innovation\, Roth embarked on a solo career as a leader\, culminating in the recording of two albums under the banner of MGP Records. Yet\, his artistic journey continues to evolve\, as he now stands on the cusp of a new endeavour. \n With his sights set on exploring fresh musical territories\, Roth is poised to embark on his first trio adventure. He is set to weave intricate melodies and rhythms\, crafting imaginative jazz compositions that resonate with a new generation of music enthusiasts. \n Bass: Mike Pratt \n Mike is a double bass and bass guitar player\, composer and producer based in London. Early in his career\, Mike was drawn to funk\, acid jazz and fusion\, discovering the music of Weather Report\, Mahavishnu Orchestra and Return to Forever\, then Steps Ahead\, John Scofield\, Charles Mingus and Duke Ellington. \n Mike performed fortnightly at Ronnie Scotts for several years in the ensemble Shorter Than Miles. Mike plays and writes for the jazz fusion project KGQ with Kieron Garret featuring Dave O’Higgins and Duncan Eagles on saxophone\, with two albums on 33 Jazz Records. He has performed with Acantha Lang and Liane Carroll\, and at the Cape Town Jazz Festival\, the Jazz Cafe and The Royal Albert Hall as well as many jazz venues in London\, across the UK and abroad.  \n Mike has taught bass and composition at Kingston University. He has recently written and performed with Laura Evans\, Oliver Tompsett and Curiosity Killed the Cat\, composed music for Ford and the FIA\, and recorded basses for the documentary Stewart. He is musical director for the live theatre rockumentary Seven Decades. \n The Pete Roth trio offers Mike an all-too-rare opportunity to depart from the traditional role of bass to become an equal partner in the melodic\, rhythmic and harmonic interplay of the trio. Mike combines his love for groove with a composer’s ear for innovative sounds and textures\, and a creative approach to improvised music. \n As daunting as it may be to reflect on the many bass players in Bruford’s extensive back catalogue (including Chris Squire\, John Wetton\, Jeff Berlin and many others)\, Mike focuses on the fact that this trio’s music is completely unlike that of any previous projects and thus he has a clean slate on which to draw his own thoughts and ideas. \n Drums: Bill Bruford \n Internationally known as a rock musician\, drummer Bill Bruford also has impeccable jazz credentials\, having recorded\, performed with or written music for Al Di Meola\, the Buddy Rich Orchestra\, David Torn\, Allan Holdsworth\, Tim Garland\, Django Bates\, Iain Ballamy and Chris Botti among others. \n Early success propelled Bill\, by nature a restless innovator uncomfortable with the well-worn path\, into a 40-year career as a bandleader and writer. His groups such as Bruford and Earthworks led the way with advanced harmony in rock in the 70s and 80s; samples\, electronics\, and odd metres in electric jazz in the 90s; and stylistic innovation in his 21st-century acoustic jazz. \n Bill’s taste for the unpredictable in live performance has led him to collaborations with dozens of the world’s top rock and jazz musicians in an endless search for the innovative\, the unusual\, and the unlikely. \n He was voted into Modern Drummer magazine’s Hall of Fame (1990)\, named by Rolling Stone magazine as #16 Greatest Drummer of All Time (2016) and inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of ‘Yes’ (2017). \nStraddling both jazz and rock\, Bill’s work as a musician is well documented on CD and DVD at Summerfold and Winterfold Records\, on his YouTube Channel\, and at www.billbruford.com . He lives in the Surrey Hills\, UK\, with his wife\, Carolyn. \nPRT Photo by Leon Barker

SUMMARY:Soft Machine
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS:  Soft Machine – Fri March 5th 2027 8pm-10pm – Wrecking Ball Arts Centre \nSoft Machine is one of the greatest UK avant/jazz-rock bands of all time. Their work\, from their\nearliest performances as a psychedelic band who were contemporaries of\, and shared stages with\,\nSyd Barrett’s Pink Floyd and the Jimi Hendrix Experience\, all the way to being one of Europe’s best\nknown ‘fusion’ groups\, has influenced several generations of bands\, and continues to be name\nchecked by today’s hip experimentalists.\nWhilst the line-up of Soft Machine may have changed many times since the heady days of the late\n1960’s\, the band’s spirit of musical adventure\, and the ease with which it freely avoids being pigeon\nholed and can move from powerful progressive jazz fusion to atmospheric psychedelia to free\nimprovised jazz-rock to ambient loop music\, continues to make it both unique and totally\ncontemporary.\nSoft Machine released their latest album ‘Thirteen’ on 13 March 2026.\nVideo links:\n\n\n\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thn9TeXV6-s\nwww.softmachine.org
